2009 National Multicultural Festival Program and Poster Launch

On the 12th of December, Minister for Multicultural Affairs John Hargreaves officially launched the 2009 National Multicultural Festival program and poster.

New Program Funding Announcement

Four local arts organisations will share in more than $200,000 under a brand-new Program Funding scheme instituted by the ACT Government this year.

Australian National Capital Artists, the Canberra International Film Festival, M16 Inc and Pro Musica will use the funding to deliver significant programs of arts activity for the ACT community in 2009 and 2010. [More...]

More than $2.1m for city's key arts organisations

Eleven of the city's Key Arts Organisations will share in more than $2.1 million in ACT Government support next year - an increase of $364,000 on last year's funding - Chief Minister and Minister for the Arts Jon Stanhope has announced.

The ACT Filmmakers Network, Artsound FM Inc, Belconnen Community Service Inc, Canberra Potters Society Inc, Canberra Symphony Orchestra Inc, Canberra Youth Music Inc, Canberra Youth Theatre Company Inc, Jigsaw Theatre Company Inc, Music For Everyone Inc, QL2-Centre for Youth Dance Inc, and Stagemaster Inc will share in this round of funding. ARTS AUDIENCES IN THE ACT - Create and they will come?

Canberra Arts Marketing (CAM) presents ARTS AUDIENCES IN THE ACT, the last forum as a part of its CAM 08 program, and invites all those interested in audience development to join in from 1pm to 4pm on Thursday 27 November at the Canberra Museum and Gallery theatre. Special guests include Jennifer Collins, ARTPOST Executive Producer, and a creative round-up involving Su Hodge, Gordon Bull, Domenic Mico, Trish Kirkland, Phillip Jones and Chanel Cole. Canberra Glassworks Turns One

Canberra Glassworks, Australia's only cultural facility devoted entirely to contemporary Australian glass, is celebrating its first birthday.

Everyone is invited to the Canberra Glassworks on Saturday 24 May and Sunday 25 May from 10am to 4pm to join in the festivities.

Canberra Glassworks is open Wednesdays to Sundays from 10am until 4pm.

ACT Creative Arts Fellowship Winners Announced

Clarinettist, Nicole Canham and cartoonist, Judy Horacek are the winners of two $35,000 ACT Creative Arts Fellowships. Chief Minister and Minister for the Arts Jon Stanhope announced the recipients of the 2007 ACT Creative Arts Fellowships on Wednesday.

The ACT Creative Arts Fellowships are the ACT’s most prestigious and richest artistic awards. They recognise artistic excellence and outstanding achievement of individual practicing ACT artists who have achieved a level of excellence in their field and demonstrate potential for further creative development.
